Investment project “Construction of 500 kV overhead power transmission line connecting “Sarimay” substation with “Muruntau” substation”

The project is based on the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to implement the investment program of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2023-2025” dated December 28, 2022 № PQ-459.

Implementation of the project will ensure stability of power transmission between the North-West, South-West and Zarafshan energy centres of our republic. The construction of 500 kV overhead power transmission line with the length of about 230 km will have crucial role in connecting more than 3 GW of new wind power plants, to be commissioned in the northwestern part of the country, to the national grid.

As part of this project, a 500 kV power transmission line with a length of about 230 km will be built from the 500 kV “Sarimay” substation, located in the Khorezm region, to the 500 kV “Muruntau” substation, located in the Navoi region.
